Early worm
A family of sandhill cranes (Grus canadensis) on the early morning excursion through a small wetland in Scapegoat Wilderness. Male introduces 3 day old chicks to earthworms. In coming days chicks will gradually learn to forage by themselves, acquiring complete independence from parents by about six weeks of age.
